About Me

• My name is Ed Leonard and I am a full-time singer/songwriter living in  Gatesville, Texas, performing under the name Ed Leonard and Friends. I have performed a weekly Thirsty Thursday show locally in Gatesville for the past five years, as well as other restaurants, private parties, weddings, and night clubs around the central Texas area, including Buzzard Billy's, La Fiesta Restaurant and Cantina, Walk-on's Sports Bistreaux, and the Heart of Texas Fair in Waco, Fuzzy's Taco Shop and BackPorch DraftHouse in Temple, and The Grain DraftHouse & Eatery in Hamilton.  I play 2-3 times every week, usually Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights; however, I am available any night of the week. I am a solo performer, but my show has a full band sound because I use high quality digital tracks to accompany my rhythm guitar and vocals. I can also provide a full band to back me up upon request. My specialty is classic country and honky-tonk, mixed with a little classic rock and some acoustic country originals. I have been performing for 30+ years, and I can entertain both a dancing crowd and a listening crowd. I am a full time entertainer, averaging 125-150 shows per year, and I would love the opportunity to entertain you and/or your customers, many of whom you'll find on my list of people who've liked my FaceBook page and/or given me favorable reviews.

I grew up to the sounds of Merle Haggard, George Jones, Buck Owens, Webb Pierce, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Johnny Rodriguez, Moe Bandy, Joe Stampley, Alan Jackson, and George Strait...artists that can/could tear your heart out with their songs. I do like some of the newer country, but I am very selective about what I put into my shows.
